Each year on May the 1st, Berlin ignites in its annual May Day celebrations. For over two decades, the much-anticipated ritual has seen the city erupt in leftist protests, street parties and open-air raves, especially in Kreuzberg. Possibly the most \u2018Berlin\u2019 day there is, May Day is the bizarre, politically charged celebration that kicks off the start of summer with a literal bang.<\/p>\n

Speaking of May Day hotspot number one, there is no way around it without mentioning the infamous RosaCaleta which embodies the perfect example of the Kreuzberg community space. Achieving their 12th anniversary this year hits the cherry on the cake for this special occasion.<\/p>\n
